For over 30 years she has provided surgical services, patient care and senior health leadership in neurosurgical centres of excellence both Australia and the UK and is internationally regarded for her expertise, clarity and compassion.
Dr Molloy currently resides in the UK and carries out mediolegal services across a broad range of cases utilising specific expertise in Paediatric Neurosurgery; Adult Neurosurgery; Craniofacial; Spine and Peripheral Nerves; Neurosurgery; Clinical Governance; Root Cause Analysis; and Critical Incident.
Graduating from Adelaide University in 1985, Dr Cindy Molloy has been a passionate surgeon and advocate for patient and staff well-being for over 30 years. She has provided first-class services in both public and private sectors in Australia and the UK, and has trained and mentored many of the current world leaders in neurosurgery. She passionately held the role as Senior Neurosurgical Consultant at both the Women’s and Children's Hospital and the Royal Adelaide Hospital, both of which are major trauma and tertiary referral centres.
Dr Molloy has also held Executive Leadership positions including the Medical Director of Surgical Services and Executive Director of Medical Services at the South Australian Women’s and Children's Hospital. Her early interest in clinical governance was responsible for her appointment the Board of a Not-for-Profit Private Hospital.
Dr Molloy has experience in being directly responsible for Clinical Governance and oversight of all Critical Incident and Root Cause Analysis, where she carried responsibility for both the welfare of clinical teams and patients. In Forensic investigations of Clinical incidents, she always delivered clarity. In 2017 Dr Molloy convened the Medico-legal section of the Royal Australiasian College of Surgeons Scientific Meeting in Adelaide in 2017.
Maintaining her clinical work as Senior Visiting Medical Officer at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital ensured Dr Molloy’s Clinical Governance decisions were relevant and remained congruent with current clinical practice expectations. Dr Molloy recently retired from clinical practice in Australia to concentrate on providing highly specialised clinical services internationally in areas of need.
She remains committed to the continuation of mentoring the next generation of Medical Leaders and Neurosurgeons and is currently highly sought after for Medico-legal opinions based on her astute experience, expertise and commitment to attention to detail.
